Breast health has been part of the coalition’s work since 2001. With more than $740,000 in grants from the Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen between 2002 and 2021, the coalition helped women across the county get screened, learn the signs of breast cancer and find support. The Komen grant ended in 2021.
Getting screened still matters: only 36% of Madison County women ages 65–74 get mammograms, compared with 43% in Arkansas (County Health Rankings 2025).
